Unfortunately, recycling and “being green” has become a trendy buzz word, thrown around the industry without any real merit or thought. However for us, recycling is an important part of our business, as we hold protecting the environment – as well as the animals and people who share the planet – in the highest regard.

 

Thus, the bulbs found in your projectors should be recycled, and not disposed of in the garbage. Besides being dangerously breakable, bulbs contain substances that are harmful to the environment, causing a safety risk to you as the holder and those around you.

 

And there’s good reason to recycle, as there are several, easy ways to properly dispose of your projector bulbs – whether you are a business with many of bulbs or a homeowner with only one bulb.

 

Please take a few minutes to research how to recycle your bulbs so you can properly do so now and in the future:

 

1. Remove each bulb as instructed within your projector user manual, or view our instructional movie at http://www.projectorlampsworld.com/installation_guide.html. It is extremely important that you always wait for the bulb to cool down before you remove it. Never under any circumstances remove a broken bulb by hand. If you are experiencing difficulty taking the bulb out of your projector, ask a local office supply or repair store for assistance.
2. Place each bulb in a Ziploc bag.

 

Now you have two options:

• Contact a local office supply store and ask if they accept old projector bulbs for recycling. Many office supply stores are going green and will recycle bulbs at no cost to you.
